Peggy Sweeney is the founder and president of the Sweeney Alliance; a bereavement educator, and editor of the Journeys Through Grief Newsletters – a resource for coping with grief, loss and emotional trauma for newly bereaved adults, parents and teens.

In this interview with memory artist, Nancy Gershman, Sweeney explores how magical photos achieved through the Healing Dreamscape process has comforted legions of grieving parents. She examines how Gershman’s technique of repurposing a photo previously associated with a tragedy can be transformational, especially if it is able to address the elephant in the room as well as teach supporters of the bereaved “the etiquette of consolation.”
