After years of seeing a therapist, creating a retirement gift as a fine art roast became a refreshingly therapeutic way for Harold’s son to have the last laugh.
Starting with this personal credo “Life’s a game and I’m a player,” I populated Harold’s empty high school gymnasium with his bigger-than-life stories. In the photomontage, the steaks hanging from the rafters reference Harold’s reputation as a serious gourmet, who returns his meat to the kitchen if they aren’t served bloody. The airplane he cradles in his arms is a reminder of his leadership in the airline industry. The poker chip table and the Frank Sinatra album reference his love of the Rat Pack lifestyle. Note the Slinkys® at the bottom of his sneakers. For Harold, the sky was the limit.
