Remember Me Personal Histories
Who was your loved one, really? Or when you’re gone, how will you be remembered? By your favorite sayings, or your indulgences? For your hard-won battles, or for dreams that were before-their-time and never realized?
As on any good odyssey, life lessons come alive in Remember Me personal histories because they contain both the highs and lows – so that we can learn as much from their struggles as from their successes.
This is the higher purpose of Remember Me personal histories. Each of these sumptuous coffee table-sized books are designed to show the trajectory of a life-in-the-making. Each decade of our subject’s life is covered by a two-page spread. On the left: an oral history about the subject – from the subject himself, or else friends, family, business partners. On the right, a digital photomontage (or Legacy Dreamscape) created from memories, stories, epiphanies, photos, artwork and memorabilia.
Your Remember Me personal history is printed as a 36-page, 12 x 9 in. hardcover photo book with sewn binding with a full color, glossy laminate image wrap on both the front and back cover; with choice of solid or patterned end papers; full color artwork and text printed on 120# text weight satin-coated pages; presented inside a black book wrap with a button and string closure. Remember Me books in softcover also available.
Process In our first consultation (in person, by phone or by Skype), we’ll go over all relevant materials and the scope of the project (see scope in Pricing, below). As for the Legacy Dreamscapes that tell a story for each decade, nearly anything can be incorporated into the artwork, so long as it is photograph-able or scan-able. In terms of the interviews I personally conduct with friends, family and colleagues of the subject, I will use the phone or Skype to capture memorable stories that otherwise would never surface unless I popped that one surprise question.
Pricing includes a Prologue and Epilogue, oral history interviews conducted and edited for each decade; Legacy Dreamscapes for each decade; a custom Family Tree and/or Timeline; and Guest Book sign-in pages for readers to date and leave comments. Digital files of the Legacy Dreamscapes become the property of the client.

Remember Me Photo Albums
Since Remember Me Photo Albums are completely tactile, I encourage 3-D page layouts and photo collages made from your photos and memorabilia that future generations can trace with their fingertips.
Handmade page layouts and artsy photo collages are terrific, but another must-have for genealogical buffs or sticklers for history is an original digital photomontage that conjures up a scene from family lore … scenes for which there are no photos, or only poor photos!
Let’s not forget narrative and context: two of the most important elements to include. Which captions are essential? Should they be handwritten, in silver on black pages? Or in black on white pages? What about a family tree? These are all of the considerations I’ll talk you through in our first consultation.
Process. In our first consultation (in person, by phone or by Skype), we’ll go over all relevant materials. Anything at all can be included in a Remember Me Photo Album, so long as it is photograph-able or scan-able. These can include a poem on a napkin, a handwritten sheet of music or a drawing, even a toe tag – really anything that was a part of your loved one’s life or death.
Pricing: The cost is based on the number of photographs that need to be scanned, digitally corrected/enhanced and then outputted onto photo paper (with or without the edges hand-cut to appear scalloped; the amount of art-direction needed for page layouts and finally, whether captions are handwritten or prepared on the computer. Digital photomontages, if desired, priced separately. Digital files of the “Dreamscapes” become the property of the client. Albums priced separately with my favorite vendors listed below:
