Ben loved the culinary arts and football, and their friend Sarah knew that he and his wife-to-be were soon headed to Italy for their honeymoon. After some photo research, I came across these curiously football-shaped engravings of eggplants and pears. It was love at first sight.

I used Ben and Dana’s toddler photos to create a surreal but sentimental photomontage portrait. I also added the football laces to the produce, hanging them from Ben’s left hand and for the finishing touch, having Dana tenderly holding Ben’s free hand.
